The modern Hootsuite alternative with Telegram, AI agents, and flat pricing

Why teams leave Hootsuite

The four reasons teams downgrade or drop Hootsuite in 2026

Hootsuite still owns enterprise team controls and listening. The friction shows up when smaller teams realise they are paying enterprise rates for a feature set they barely touch.

Per-seat pricing scales painfully

Hootsuite Team starts around $249/mo for 3 users and 20 channels. Bumping to Business is ~$739/mo for 5 users. By 10 users you are well over $1,500/mo before any add-ons.

No native Telegram support

Hootsuite covers the big legacy networks well, but Telegram, the largest closed-DM channel for SMB sales, is simply not on the list. Same for the messy reality of X DMs.

OwlyWriter AI is light on agentic depth

Hootsuite's AI helps you write captions and hashtags. It does not act as a sales agent that qualifies inbound DMs, hands off hot leads, or runs a follow-up sequence on its own.

Heavyweight UI for everyday work

Hootsuite's dashboard was designed in the streams-and-columns era. Modern social teams expect a unified inbox, a clean pipeline view, and AI that fits the workflow, not 12 columns of tweets.

Hootsuite remains the right call for large in-house teams with deep social-listening, brand-monitoring, and approval-workflow needs. For SMB and growth-stage teams, the bundle CRM Solid offers usually wins on both price and channel coverage.

What you actually gain by switching

Six things you get on day one with CRM Solid that Hootsuite cannot match.

Modern multi-platform scheduler

Schedule across X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, Threads, and YouTube from a single calendar, with per-network text variants and first-comment automation.

Telegram + X DMs natively

CRM Solid speaks Telegram MTProto and X DMs natively, both the closed channels where Hootsuite leaves you stranded.

Agentic AI, not just caption writing

AI sales agents with custom personas, grounded knowledge, handoff rules, and the ability to run DM sequences on their own. OwlyWriter writes; ours acts.

Flat $29-$199/mo workspace pricing

No per-seat tax. No five-seat minimum. Bring your whole team and as many social channels as you need; your bill stays where it started.

Sales pipeline + lead scoring

Drag DMs from "Inquiry" to "Won" in the same workspace. Hootsuite has an inbox; we have an inbox AND a real CRM pipeline glued to it.

Ship in 20 minutes

Connect channels, import contacts, send your first DM, all the same afternoon. No two-week Hootsuite onboarding sequence required.

How to migrate from Hootsuite to CRM Solid

Hootsuite-to-CRM-Solid migrations are unusually predictable. Hootsuite has mature CSV exports, the post format is well-documented, and most of our switchers have a thinner Hootsuite setup than they expect: five active channels, two recurring time slots, one approval rule. The migration usually fits in a single working afternoon.

Step 1: Export your data from Hootsuite

In Hootsuite, open Publisher > Content and use the export menu. Pull:

  • Scheduled posts: CSV, includes date, time, network, copy, and media URLs.
  • Drafts: useful if you keep a content backlog inside Hootsuite.
  • Content categories: Hootsuite's tag system; maps directly to ours.
  • Approval workflows: note these down manually; Hootsuite does not export the rules.
  • Saved searches / streams (optional): copy the keyword lists into a doc; you will use them when you set up CRM Solid's inbox filters.

Hootsuite delivers exports inline (no email link). Save each CSV with a clear name; you will upload them in sequence in step 3.

Step 2: Map fields to CRM Solid

The data model maps cleanly:

  • Hootsuite Social network → CRM Solid Connected account
  • Hootsuite Scheduled message → CRM Solid Scheduled post
  • Hootsuite Content category → CRM Solid Post tag
  • Hootsuite Publishing schedule → CRM Solid Time slot
  • Hootsuite Approver / Reviewer → CRM Solid Approval workflow

Per-network text variants come across automatically. If a Hootsuite post used their AutoSchedule queue, we slot it into the equivalent CRM Solid time-slot schedule that matches the network's best-time data.

Step 3: Import via UI or API

Open the Scheduler Import page and drop the Hootsuite CSV. CRM Solid runs a dry-run preview; you see every post on a calendar overlay before confirming. Once confirmed, the queue is created with the original send times.

For workspaces with 1,000+ queued posts, use our public REST API: POST batches of 500 to /v1/posts/bulk. Includes idempotency, retry-safe re-runs, and built-in rate limiting.

Step 4: Reconnect your channels

In Integrations, connect each network via OAuth. Order does not matter, but we recommend Telegram first if you have one, because it's the channel Hootsuite never gave you:

  • Telegram (MTProto, multi-account): see Telegram CRM
  • X (Twitter): see Twitter CRM
  • Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, Threads, YouTube
  • Email: Gmail or IMAP/SMTP for any domain
  • The embeddable live-chat widget

Most teams reconnect 5-8 channels in 10 minutes. The Telegram + live-chat additions usually feel like new superpowers, not migrations.

Step 5: Replicate your most-used workflows

Three Hootsuite workflows worth rebuilding immediately:

  1. Approval workflows: recreate your contributor/approver chain. Two-stage workflows (contributor → approver) work the same way; if you had three-stage approval (rare), open a chat and we will configure it manually.
  2. Recurring time slots: CRM Solid's time slot view replicates Hootsuite's AutoSchedule. Define daily/weekly slots per network and drop content into them.
  3. Inbox filters: Hootsuite Streams become CRM Solid inbox filters. Keyword filters, mention filters, hashtag filters, all in the unified inbox sidebar.

Two extras Hootsuite does not have: AI auto-responder on incoming DMs and DM drip sequences for outbound. Set both up while you are on the migration call; it is the moment most teams realise CRM Solid is genuinely more capable.

“We had Hootsuite Business at $739 a month for five seats and used maybe two thirds of it. We needed Telegram, we needed real DM automation, and we needed a CRM. Hootsuite gave us none of those. The CRM Solid trial paid for itself the day we ran our first Telegram broadcast and the inbox actually caught the replies. Cancelled Hootsuite at the end of the month.”

Hootsuite migration FAQ

The eight questions teams ask us before switching off Hootsuite.

Yes. In Hootsuite, open Publisher > Settings > Export and request a CSV of scheduled posts. Drop it into our import wizard. Posts come over with their original send time, per-network variants, and media attachments. Saved hashtag groups become tag-based content templates in CRM Solid.
You give up Hootsuite's Insights and Listening modules (their social-listening platform), the streams-style dashboard view, and a handful of niche network integrations (e.g. some Chinese networks). You gain Telegram, X DMs, a sales pipeline, agentic AI, and flat pricing.
Yes. Our CSV importer reads Hootsuite's native export format directly. For agencies running multiple client workspaces, we offer a free 45-minute guided migration call to split them into separate CRM Solid workspaces.
A typical small team (3-5 seats, 200 queued posts, 5-8 channels) finishes in under an hour. Agencies with 10+ client workspaces and 2,000+ queued posts take a half-day with our team on the call.
Yes. Every paid plan includes a 45-minute migration call. We will export with you, configure your channels, and rebuild your top three approval workflows and content categories.
CRM Solid supports two-stage approval workflows for scheduled content: a contributor creates, an approver greenlights or returns with comments. If your approval process has more than two stages (rare outside enterprise), we will set up the additional stages on your migration call.
Hootsuite Team is roughly $249/mo for 3 users; Business is ~$739/mo for 5 users; Enterprise is quote-based. CRM Solid Pro is $99/mo flat for unlimited users. A 10-user team typically saves $1,500-$3,000/mo on a like-for-like switch, and gets Telegram + a CRM + AI agents bundled in.
Absolutely. The 14-day free trial gives you the full workspace. Connect one or two channels to CRM Solid alongside Hootsuite, schedule for the next two weeks in both, and compare response times, captured DMs, and pipeline lift. Most teams move the rest of the channels over by day 10.
