How to migrate from HubSpot to CRM Solid

A complete HubSpot-to-CRM-Solid migration usually takes one afternoon for an SMB workspace and one full day for a mid-market team with custom objects and multi-pipeline setups. The big-bang horror stories you have read about Salesforce do not apply here. HubSpot exports cleanly and CRM Solid imports tolerantly.

Step 1: Export your data from HubSpot

In HubSpot, open Settings > Import & Export > Export. Run the following exports, one per object type, and download each as a CSV:

  • Contacts: include all custom properties.
  • Companies: include domain, industry, and lifecycle stage.
  • Deals: include pipeline name, stage, amount, close date, and owner.
  • Engagements / Notes: optional, useful for context but not required.
  • Lists: re-create as tags in CRM Solid.

HubSpot will email you a download link per export. The largest export I have personally seen (140,000 contacts) finished in 14 minutes. Save all CSVs in one folder; you will upload them in order.

Step 2: Map fields to CRM Solid

CRM Solid groups contact data under Profile, Lead Score, Consent, and an unlimited number of Custom Fields. The import wizard will auto-detect HubSpot column names like firstname, email, and lifecyclestage. Anything it does not recognise becomes a custom field; you can rename them after the fact.

Two HubSpot specifics to watch for:

  • Marketing Contact: HubSpot's billing flag. We ignore it. All contacts in CRM Solid are equal; there is no second-class tier.
  • Lifecycle stage: maps cleanly to our pipeline stages. Re-name "Subscriber → MQL → SQL → Opportunity → Customer" to whatever your team uses.

Step 3: Import via UI or API

The Import Wizard in the Settings panel handles up to 250,000 contacts per CSV. For larger jobs, use our public REST API and POST to /v1/contacts/bulk in batches of 5,000. The API enforces idempotency by external_id, so re-runs are safe.

Tag every imported contact with source:hubspot. This makes it trivial to roll back if you want to compare pre/post migration metrics.

Step 4: Reconnect your channels

This is where HubSpot stops and CRM Solid starts. In Integrations, connect:

  • Telegram (we use MTProto, no Bot API limitations)
  • X (Twitter): DMs and post scheduling
  • WhatsApp via Meta Cloud API (BYO number)
  • Instagram DMs (via your Meta business app)
